This step-by-step guide will teach you how to get custom firmware on any Playstation Portable that has a memory stick and battery. Custom Firmware is a modded system version for Playstation Portable which allows you to get free games from websites and run homebrew. The whole process takes about 20-30 minutes. You will have to make a Pandora battery and magic memory stick.
First, download Pandora’s Universal Unbricker 3.71 m33-2. Save it to your desktop and run autorun.exe. There should be 4 steps in the installation process for the magic memory stick. The steps will include, choosing the drive your psp (Playstation Portable) is in, modifying the memory stick, formatting the memory stick and adding the files needed for the magic memory stick. Then turn the whole system off. This gives you the mms.(magic memory stick)

First, insert the mms (magic memory stick) in the memory stick drive of the psp. Then, insert the pb (pandora battery) and the custom firmware menu should pop up. Then press "x" to install 3.71 m33-2. After all the files are loaded, it should ask you to press "x" to shut down, go ahead and press "x" again.
After shutting down the psp, watch the youtube video below and learn how to turn the pb into nb (normal battery). After making the conversion from pb into nb, put it in the psp. Then hold the "r" button and turn it on while still holding the "r" button. Doing this should take you to the m33 Recovery Menu for psp. Press "x" on advanced -> and then press "x" on format flash1 and reset settings. After that, it should boot up and show a blue menu with a bunch of white words in different languages. At that time, press circle and wait for about 10 seconds. Once it starts up again, you are done! You will have cfw 3.71 m33-2. To check you have got 3.71 m33-2 go to settings, then system settings, and system information.
